NY Fashion Week 2017

For those of you who know me, you know that I absolutely love NYC! The magic, the streets, the people, the vibe... but being IN NY FOR FASHION WEEK... OMG, just OMG!
As a makeup and hair artist and a blogger, living this experience was a dream come true. I had been wanting to make it for the past 2 years, but I had been "kinda" busy, you know, being pregnant, having kids and just the whole being a mom part. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE being a mommy, that's why I decided to take a brake for a little bit to focus on my kids, and my family, but this year I thought it was time to go back to my professional life.
Then Harvey hit Houston, TX and although we stayed safe and dry, I thought I was not gonna make it to NY... but I actually did! I just had to change my departure day because of somethings I had to take care of. Which by the way, United Airlines has the best costumer service! When I called in to change my flight, they were so understanding and they didn't charge a penny. This is why I love flying with them!

Finally made it to NY to start a busy, yet fun week!! The highlight of the week was the video we did for Chanel for Vogue Mexico and Latin America! Watch it here...

I also got to be a part of NYFW wit the amazing Mayela Vazquez, who is the lead makeup and hair artist for the shows of Ricardo Seco, Agatha Ruiz de la Prada amongst others. I cannot begin to tell you how talented and sweet she is. It was such an honor to work side by side and learn from her.
We were a team of about 15 people, all of us working hard, super focused at all times and literally, watching one of our biggest dreams come true!
Xanteria Cosmética was the sponsor for the makeup and I just LOVED everything about this makeup line! I have their lipstick collection and I love them all! Here are some of the pictures of what happened before the show...

The energy backstage was just amazing! The models were having a blast, and so were we! Lots of real beauty queens walked the runway. Miss International and Miss Teen Paraguay were there, and I was lucky enough to paint their faces. Such cuties!! I even got to watch one of the shows from the first row next to them. It was an amazing experience!! And did I mention Carolina Herrera was there?!!
You can watch Agatha Ruiz de la Prada's show HERE

How lucky was I, that I also got to do a Photoshoot at Central Park and its surroundings with my favorite outfits for NYFW! Check them out...

It was not all work, I also got some free time to enjoy the Big Apple with my brother and sister-in-law, and Fofo (their furry baby)! My fave restaurants this time around were: Empellón on Madison Ave. and The Smith on Third Ave... if you love visiting trendy restaurants, and trying the best food, you gotta follow my brother Vlad Garza who's a foodie and designer in NYC!

Seeing all these pictures and writing this blog post made me smile. If you were to tell me a year ago that I would be doing NYFW, I would've never believed it! Watching all those models walk the runway was so surreal. And doing that Photoshoot at Central Park... just everything!
I am so grateful to all the people who believed in me and my work. And above all, I am thankful to God because He has opened every single door in my life. His promises has truly become a reality and I know that this is only the beginning! I am looking forward to the next NYFW for sure!
