As far as she remembers, Mely always dreamed of being on the runway surrounded by the flashlights and glamour. As a teenager, that dream came true when she became a professional model in her hometown, Monterrey, Mexico. She worked with numerous photographers and fashion designers in advertising campaigns and commercials. Being a model helped her understand and love the fashion and beauty industry not only in the spotlight but also “behind the scenes”. Enjoying what she did, she became eager to discover all the secrets about beauty. became a Certified Aesthetician. Having the fortune of knowing many interesting people in the modeling industry, her name quickly became well-known in the fashion world both as a model and makeup and hair artist who understood the two sides of the business.
Mely has a degree in International Relations and always had an entrepreneur mind. In 2006, Mely launched her own makeup + hair artistry company. During the last years, she has performed thousands of makeovers, makeup lessons and seminars motivating many to discover their own beauty through a unique and life changing concept.
In 2011 Mely expanded internationally and established in Houston, TX where she is quickly growing. Later on, while on a trip to NYC during Fashion Week, she had the opportunity to create her very own makeup label, Melon Cosmetics - something she had always dreamed of!
One of Mely's biggest passions in life is writing. She started her blog in Spanish back in 2006 when she got engaged to her now husband. She shared their love story, the testimony of her birth, her life, and of course, her beauty tricks and secrets. She is currently one of Houston’s TOP INFLUENCERS and has a large following.
Mely is also a breast cancer survivor and thriver and is now an advocate for breast cancer awareness. She has used her platform to share her Story openly which has allowed her to connect with her audience at a more personal level. She loves helping other women going through their journey too. Mely is committed to use every single gift and life experience, to continue encouraging women to discover their beauty and their strength.
